One Life, One Chance

"Aw ! I'm proud of my baby. I'm sure she will become a doctor!" Probably everyone would have heard this at least once in your life. What are you? What are you meant to be? Are you doing that perfectly? Are you doing this just because your parents wanted you to or because of peer pressure? You are gonna piss off a lot of people when you start doing what is important for you. That's totally fine. Remember, it isn't your job to make everyone happy always. “If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you’ll find an excuse.” Sometimes all of us feel lost and we can't figure out what we have to do next. Maybe we know what we have to do, but we aren't trying to do them because of the odds we might face after that.
Your mind is going to want to resist and argue why you need to keep them – after all they brought you this “far.” But, what our mind is telling us – both the “should” and/or what will happen if you let it go – is usually not based in facts, contains a lot of conjecture or is a projection into the future which we just can’t know. So take a closer look. And from deep inside see if you can feel what’s really true for you.
There is a concept called Ikigai, and it is a Japanese term that roughly translates to “reason for being.” Ikigai is a lifestyle that strives to balance the spiritual with the practical. According to me, the first step of success would be finding your Ikigai. To discover you Ikigai, you must first find what you’re most passionate about. Then, you find the medium through which you can express that passion. I really understand figuring out a passion which might turn into your career or turn out to be your future is really challenging and breathtaking. You need time for that. Never get scared of your peers. They might be more talented and successful than you and it's okay.  Take time. Spend months. But once you figure out your Ikigai, never stop. Do whatever it takes. Your passion might be odd, might not be very popular or "cool". People might question you, " Are you sure you are gonna do this? ". Face them boldly. However, there’s a difference between the things that are important in your life and your life’s work.Ikigai is about finding joy, fulfillment, and balance in the daily routine of life. It’s all too easy to fall victim to siloed thinking, that our job, family, passions, and desires are all separate and unrelated aspects of our lives. The fundamental truth of Ikigai is that nothing is siloed. Everything is connected. Stay unique. Find the thing you are most passionate about in life. This was one of them :):
